Frontier Developments acquires Complex Games (Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters)

Last spring, Frontier Foundry and Complex Games launched Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhuntersa turn-based tactical role-playing game set in the futuristic world of Games Workshopwhich has managed to seduce fans of titles at the XCOM without revolutionizing the genre.

But Frontier Foundry obviously enjoyed working with the developer, its parent company Frontier Developments announcement today the takeover of Complex Games. The Canadian studio is the first to be acquired by frontier, based in the United Kingdom, he will help the editor to settle in Canada, a very attractive country for developers in recent years. And especially, frontier already announced that Complex Games will work on “even more ambitious future games” than Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters. Johnny Watts, CEO of Frontier Developmentssays:

When we launched our third-party strategy in 2019, we were excited about the possibility of more formally aligning our development partners Frontier Foundry with Frontier through an acquisition. Our experience with Complex Games on Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters has been great, and I’m delighted to welcome Noah and the team to Frontier to grow and evolve our development team in Manitoba, Canada. This is Frontier’s first acquisition and we will continue to explore opportunities to increase Frontier’s resources to further develop and nurture our portfolio.

Noah Decter Jackson, CEO of Complex Gamesadds:

Working with Frontier on Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters has been a great experience and I’m excited about our growth plans for our Winnipeg studio. I am truly proud of the achievements of Complex Games and would like to thank everyone who has been part of this success for many years. I look forward to developing even more great games in the future as a member of Frontier.
