Last week, on average, the liter of diesel lost 1.6 cents, and that of gasoline 3.3 cents, according to the authorities.
Calm on the fuel front. While only two TotalEnergies sites remain on strike – that of Feyzin, in the Rhône, and that of Gonfreville, in Seine-Maritime -, fuel prices started to fall again last week. According to data from the Ministry of Energy Transition, a liter of diesel was thus displayed at 1.9053 euros on average, down 1.6 cents over seven days.
Gasoline followed the same path: the liter of SP95-E10 thus cost 1.6320 euro on average, that of the SP95 1.7050 euro and that of the SP98 some 1.7294 euro. Levels lower than that of diesel, and where the decline – 3.3 cents for the SP95-E10 – was more marked.

Part of the decline could be explained by the end of the strike affecting depots and refineries, which may have strengthened supply and eased tensions on supply. In addition, the price of the raw material fell slightly last week, while concerns about Chinese growth, and, more broadly, worldwide, raise fears of a drop in demand. However, “market prices for petrol and diesel remain […] under pressure“, specifies the IFPEN in a note, this Monday.
Despite this downward trend, significant differences remain depending on the region. In Ain, for example, this Monday, the price can fluctuate between 2.14 euros and 1.75 euros for a liter of diesel, according to government data. In the Var, for the same product, the difference reached 60 cents, between 2.32 euros and 1.73 euros. In addition, the prices displayed include the enhanced discount, offered by both TotalEnergies and the State. And these will decrease from mid-November… Enough to boost prices at the pump, on this date.
