News from Warner Bros. The studio announced three new launch dates. Among them: the "Mad Max: Fury Road" prequel "Furiosa".

Warner Bros. is nailing it just before Christmas. The US film studio announced three release dates for new movies, as reported by "Variety". Among them is the prequel for "Mad Max: Fury Road" from 2015. The blockbuster "Furiosa" with Anya Taylor-Joy (24, "Split") in the lead role is due to open on June 23, 2023 in theaters.

"Furiosa" will be directed, written and produced again by the Australian director George Miller (75), who was already responsible for the entire "Mad Max" series. In addition to Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth (37, "Avengers: Endgame") and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (34, "Watchmen") can also be seen in the film, the plot of which is set before that from "Mad Max: Fury Road" is. Oscar winner Charlize Theron (45, "Monster") played one of the leading roles as Imperator Furiosa in the 2015 adventure film.

Also in the cinema in 2023: family strip "Coyote vs. Acme" and musical film "The Color Purple"

In addition to "Furiosa", Warner Bros. 2023 will also release the family film "Coyote vs. Acme" (July 21) and a musical version of the classic novel and film "The Color Purple" (around December 20). Musician and director Blitz Bazawule (38) has given the drama by Steven Spielberg (74) from 1985, in which Whoopi Goldberg (65), Danny Glover (74) and Oprah Winfrey (66) can be seen, a new musical look. Spielberg and Winfrey act as producers.

For the three films that have now been announced, Warner Bros. is apparently going back to the traditional theatrical release – unlike "Matrix 4", "Dune" and "The Suicide Squad", which will all start in 2021. Due to the ongoing corona pandemic, they are to be launched simultaneously in the cinema and at HBO Max, WarnerMedia's in-house streaming service.
