Future on TF1: “Funny and touching at the same time”, “Incredible” … Kev Adams’ series conquers the hearts of Internet users

TF1 broadcast last night the first two episodes of “Avenir”, its new event series led by Kev Adams. Viewers were won over by this ambitious fantasy fiction.

TF1 launched this Monday the broadcast of the first two episodes of Avenir, a fantastic series carried by Kev Adams. For the occasion, he plays Elliot, a broke thirty-year-old, salesman in a household appliance store, who will one evening succeed in communicating by email with his 10-year-old him.

Little and big Eliott will do everything to get their lives back together and try to make their dreams come true. But they will quickly understand that playing with the past can have serious consequences…

Almost 10 years after the end of SODA, which had allowed the comedian to make himself known to the general public, Kev Adams therefore returns to the small screen for an ambitious new project that he co-wrote alongside Daive Cohen (also creator of the series), Elodie Hesme (the interpreter of Deborah Atlan in Cherif) and Frank Bellocq, who is also behind the camera.

In Avenir, Kev Adams gives the reply to Natacha Lindinger (Sam), Guillaume de Tonquédec (They were 10), Eric Elmosnino (The Bélier Family), Alice David (Babysitting), Marilyn Lima (The best of us), India De Almeida and Jérémie Dethelot (Visitors).

Internet users conquered

And from the first evening of broadcast, Avenir succeeded in winning the hearts of Internet users, as evidenced by the many tweets that were posted on Twitter:

This series is amazing. The first two episodes were awesome!”, “The new #Avenir series with @kevadamsss is really super intriguing even my darling is in full swing and doesn’t want to miss next week“ thus commented on some viewers.

Many are also waiting for the next episodes which will be broadcast on Monday on TF1: “Tonight I watched the first 2 episodes of the #Avenir mini series with @kevadamsss on @TF1 and frankly I can’t wait to see the rest!” enthused a viewer.

Audiences at half mast

Unfortunately, if Avenir succeeded in convincing Internet users, viewers were not there. Although TF1 relied heavily on the series carried by Kev Adams, it only brought together 2.84 million curious people on average, i.e. an average audience share of 15.3% of the entire public.

On the target of Women Purchasing Managers aged under 50 (FRDA-50), La Une nevertheless posted a nice score of 32.5%, which allows it to be the leader in this category.

Figures which did not allow the channel to beat France 2 and the final of L’Île prisonnière which gathered 4.12 million viewers on average. Between its first and second episode, Avenir lost nearly 729,000 viewers. A half-hearted start therefore for the series of Kev Adams.

Find two new episodes of Avenir on Monday March 6 from 9:10 p.m. on TF1.
