After the death of Gabby Petito, Brian Laundrie confessed to having killed her in a notebook. As their parents find themselves in court, his terrible confessions have been revealed.
Almost a year after the death of Gabby Petito, the confessions of her murderer have been revealed. Last August, Brian Laundrie killed his girlfriend as they crossed the American West in a converted van before hiding her body in a forest in Wyoming. Upon returning home, he quickly disappeared before committing suicide in a formerly flooded area of Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park, Florida. Next to his body, Brian Laundrie left a notebook in which he confessed to the murder of Gabby Petito. “I put an end to his days”, wrote the assassin in his notebook, left in evidence next to his corpse, found by the investigators last October.
According to Brian Laundrie, Gabby Petito had injured her forehead and asked him to end her suffering. “I thought it was merciful, it was what she wanted, but now I see all the mistakes I made, he wrote again. I panicked. I was in shock. But from the moment I decided to take her pain away, I knew I couldn’t go on without her.” In his notes, Brian Laundrie also addresses the family of Gabby Petito. “I’m sorry to everyone this will affect. Gabby was the love of my life but I know she was adored by many. I’m so sorry for her family, because I love them.”wrote the killer.
Brian Laundrie: ‘I killed myself hoping animals could tear me apart’
On the last page published in his macabre notebook, Brian Laundrie evoked his future suicide : “I committed suicide near this creek in the hope that animals could tear me apart. May it make part of his family happy”. The last words of the notebook, revealed by the lawyer of the family of the assassin to People and on social networks, were written with a different pen from the previous ones, surely later. “Please pick up all my stuff. Gabby hated people who litter,” concluded Brian Laundrie. Gabby Petito’s family has filed a civil action against that of his killer, accusing him of having covered the young man, and is asking him for 30,000 dollars in damages.
