The Galaxy S24 will be unveiled on January 17th. Samsung has now officially confirmed this and published two teaser clips. These reveal 3 things about the new top smartphone from Korea.
The sparrows were already whistling it from the rooftops weeks ago. Now Samsung has confirmed the rumors: the Galaxy S24 will be unveiled in January. The South Korean manufacturer is inviting you to an unpacked event in San Jose on January 17th. According to the invitation published by Samsung Germany, Samsung wants to present “the new Samsung Galaxy S series” there.
The term “series” implies that we will see several devices again. How many remains to be seen. We’re expecting three devices again: a Galaxy S24, a Galaxy S24+ and a Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Several Galaxy S models are in the works again
This is also indicated by certifications from the US regulatory authority FCC. Initial rumors that the South Korean manufacturer is canceling the Plus model are probably wrong. Of course, another model name would be conceivable.
Samsung also confirms in the invitation that the focus of the new S series will be on the topic of “artificial intelligence”, also abbreviated as AI or AI. In this context, the “Galaxy AI” brand is introduced in a teaser video for the event.
The focus is on the topic of AI
Samsung already gave us an outlook on the functions of this in November 2023. Among other things, Galaxy AI is supposed to turn your cell phone into a simultaneous interpreter. It should be able to translate calls, audio and text messages in real time – without the need for additional apps.
Samsung also promised further AI features in the press release at the time, which we will probably get to know at the Unpacked Event.
No surprises in the design
In another video teaser published for the event, the outline and part of the back of one of the next Galaxy S models can be seen from second 49th. Visually, this is very reminiscent of the Galaxy S23 Ultra. We therefore assume that it is the S24 Ultra.
If this assumption were to be confirmed, Samsung would probably not make any significant changes to the appearance of the devices. Previous leaks had also indicated this. There should only be a small design difference.
