Samsung will soon unveil a new generation of folding smartphones. Before the official release, we are already entitled to a first glimpse of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 thanks to multiple stolen photos.
While we already knew what Samsung’s foldable smartphone was going to look like thanks to the detailed renderings of Onleaks, the YouTuber TechTalkTV has now just shared on social networks the first real images of the Galaxy Z Flip 4. The device presents few differences from the previous generation, and looks more like an evolution than a revolution.
Some differences can however be noted, including in particular at the level of the hinge, the mechanism which allows the smartphone to be folded. In effect, we notice that the hinge is much thinner and therefore less visible when the device is folded. For this, Samsung seems to have revised the design of its smartphone and adopted flatter borders, rather than keeping the rounded borders of the previous generation.
The screen crease is less noticeable on the Galaxy Z Flip 4
Another good point for the smartphone is screen crease reduction, which can be seen in the middle of the smartphone when it is unfolded. On this generation, it seems much more subtle, and should therefore go unnoticed unless you pay attention to it. At the front, we still find a 6.7-inch main screen with a central punch for the selfie camera.
On the back, as several leakers had reported, the smartphone will offer a slightly larger external screen this year. The latter should measure around 2.1 inchescompared to 1.9 inches on the Galaxy Z Flip 3. The difference should therefore not be very noticeable.
Finally, in terms of technical characteristics, we know that the smartphone will be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip from Qualcomm, as revealed by the first benchmark of the Galaxy Z Flip 4. The other good news is the significant increase battery size. We will go from 3300 mAh on the Galaxy Z Flip 3 to 3700 mAh on the next Galaxy Z Flip 4. Although this is a significant increase, we imagine that it will still not be enough to hope to end the day comfortably.
