Remember. In 2015, a game like no other was released, Ori and the Blind Forest. The title, developed by Moon Studios, has charmed the entire video game community thanks to its extremely careful graphics. The critics gave him almost perfect marks and he even received the prize for best artistic direction at the 2015 Game Awards. In 2020, the studio followed up with Ori and the Will of the Wisps which enjoyed even greater success than its predecessor, selling over 2 million copies. And now the flawless studio returns to the forefront with a game that stands out from their previous productions. Find out what No Rest for the Wicked is hiding in our JV Fast.

No Rest for the Wicked

No Rest for the Wicked is therefore the future game from Moon Studios, announced a few months ago during the Game Awards 2023 ceremony. It is an Action-RPG in isometric view, as bloody as it is visually beautiful and which is closer to a Dark Souls than to the Metroidvania genre to which the studio is accustomed. And although it was announced not long ago, the developers have already been talking about it since 2020. They then stated that their next project was leaving the fantasy world and was based on human beings. But that’s not the only difference between this game and the Ori. On the one hand, Xbox Game Studios leaves its place to Private Division as publisher. On the other hand, No Rest for the Wicked will be the studio’s first title to come to Sony consoles, on PlayStation 5. For more information on this game which looks promising, do not hesitate to watch our JV Fast.

The best game of the year

As previously said, No Rest for the Wicked was one of the surprises of the last Game Awards ceremony by offering one of the best graphics of the evening. As of now, no specific release date has been disclosed, but the studio is planning an event called Wicked Inside which will take place on March 1st and which will give us more information on the software. In our JV Fast, Panthaa and FKZ look back on the few minutes of gameplay that were revealed, and the least we can say is that they are heavy. Graphic quality, fluidity of movements and boss fights, these few images are already making our mouths water. In this title, we find many inspirations: a mix between the boss patterns of Elden Ring, the dark plot of Bloodborne and the isometric camera of Diablo.
