Good news for metroidvania fans, the Steam platform is currently full of great promotions for its “Metroidvania Fusion” event.

Metroidvania fans, you will certainly not want to miss this particularly attractive news for your wallet and for your simple pleasure. The holy platform that is Steam is currently hosting an event called “Metroidvania Fusion”, which brings together not only a slew of future games to watch, demos to download, but also a series of great promotions on a myriad of gems. Surprisingly, the event is not organized by Steam itself, but by an external user, the publisher Ravenage.

The promotions are particularly interesting: note for example the presence of Blue Fire at the low price of €5.70 instead of €16.79, which is a successful marriage between Zelda, Celeste and Hollow Knight which we rated 15/20 in our columns. The very recent The Cub with its post-apo world and its captivating soundtrack is €8.87 while the cult Blasphemous displays the very reasonable price of €6.24. The intriguing GRIME is only €12.59 while Rain World and its strange slug cat are €9.80. And for less than five euros, you can also find what you’re looking for with slightly more anonymous games. The list is long, so we invite you to consult the event’s Steam page directly to find out.

2024, the year of the metroidvania?

We’re eating metroidvania by the bucketful at the moment. This genre is one of the major trends and was notably marked by the victorious return of Prince of Persia. A nice surprise at the start of the year rated 16/20, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown shines with its successful mix of combat, exploration, platforms and puzzles. And good news, additional free content should arrive in the coming months on the game, notably adding a new very difficult game mode. For several weeks we have also been offering you our preview of Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, first game from Abubakar Salim, who you probably know as the interpreter of Bayek in Assassin’s Creed Origins. A very exciting experience which “promises to be an original and intelligent experience on mourning” according to our journalist Meakaya. So, what’s going on this year?
