A monumental task that took six months of effort, that is to say almost 1,900 hours. “I’ve been collecting them since June last year,” explains the person – on X (Twitter). “I’m already tired and I can’t move at all.” With this challenge, Squall discovered the maximum amount of spirits that Link can carry in this Tears of the Kingdom.

In a brief interview given to AutomatonSquall revealed that it was his curiosity that pushed him to take on this challenge… “He wanted to see with his own eyes the maximum number of spirits that Link can carry, getting more and more invested the more he saw this number will increase” – writes the media.
Cherry on the cake, Squall even shared routes to collect the most spirits in the shortest amount of time. As you can see in the video below, there are two main ones. One that focuses on the bottom left corner of the map, and another that extends south to north to the Fire Temple. On these routes you can get up to 5,500 spirits in four hours.
As explained above, spirits are found exclusively in the Depths of Tears of the Kingdom. They allow you to purchase items from the genie statues, also present under the surface of Hyrule, with one exception. You will be able to buy the outfit of darkness which protects you from miasma, a dangerous substance which plagues the Depths.
