Gamescom is fast approachingand players around the world can’t wait to see what they’ll discover! From August 24 to 28, the event will take place in Cologne, Germany, in a hybrid format, which reflects the impact of the Covid-19 crisis on this type of conference. While for two years, E3, Gamescom, Summer Fest and many other conventions centered around video games have been canceled, the hybrid format allows a virtual return to freedom, which helps players rediscover the magic of the moment in person.

Keighley gives us tea
As the title of this chapter suggests, Geoff Keighley revealed to players that big announcements were coming for this Gamescom 2022. It’s in a short video posted to his Twitter page that Keighley explains how excited he is about Gamescom’s return to physics.
He also states that during the opening night of Gamescom, fans will be able to attend “firsts, world firsts” and other important announcements for the video game industry.
Of course, gamers around the world were hyped by this statement and are now wondering which games these big announcements might be about. Considering that the Summer Games Fest was also rich in world premieres (as a first look at Starfield gameplay) it’s likely that Keighley has once again had access to exclusive trailers and details on upcoming releases.
What might these big announcements be?
The announcements mentioned by Keighley may concern many games… except those of certain publishers, such as PlayStation and Nintendo, which confirmed their absence from Gamescon 2022 last June.
Nintendo said: “Gamescom is a central event in Nintendo’s calendar. This year, however, after careful consideration, we have decided not to attend Cologne. As for the publishers present, we can count on Ubisoft, who had announced that they wanted to reveal many surprises during the event.
