Actor Gedeon Burkhard looks back on a rebellious youth. Without them he might never have become an actor.

Actor Gedeon Burkhard (51, "Kommissar Rex") was a little rebel in his youth. Burkhard, who grew up in Munich, tells of this in an interview with "Bild am Sonntag": "I've been kicked out of school five times in my life. The reason was always the 'common good of the class'. You couldn't teach when I was there . "

Burkhard explains that he found his way in front of the camera by saying that he already enjoyed entertaining the class back then. When he was not interested in the lessons, he "always competed with the teacher for the class' s attention. Of course, I was usually more entertaining for my classmates than the teachers. And lo and behold: I became an actor."

He was "snotty and wanted to rebel"

One of the reasons for his rebellion was obviously that Burkhard's school in Munich was a Catholic institution: "I am an atheist. (…) I believe in life, in myself and in the people I love. " The 51-year-old remembers his visits to confession: "I was ten at the time, and confession took place as part of religious instruction. But I saw it in a more sporty way. I just wanted to finish the poor priest."

In order to annoy the priest, the then ten-year-old thought about a particular meanness: "I had an endless list of sins with me. That was definitely three A4 pages. Today I don't even know what it said In the fourth quarter the priest said to me: 'That's enough!' "Looking back, Burkhard sums up:" I was snotty back then and wanted to rebel. "
