Less powerful, but also more economical than the others graphics cards RTX 4000, 4060 will not have Founders Edition.

This time, doubt is no longer allowed, since it is NVIDIA itself which confirms the thing through an ultimately very brief tweet.

A sixth GeForce RTX 4000

It seemed difficult to question the rumors published just yesterday, but we have confirmation: NVIDIA has indeed decided to bring forward the release of its GeForce RTX 4060 by at least a week.

A time scheduled for the first half of July, this new graphics card comes to close the first salvo of GeForce RTX 4000 series for gamers. An RTX 4050 may indeed see the light of day soon, but NVIDIA has always considered this range (the x50s) as not really “gaming” models.

After the RTX 4090 on October 12, the RTX 4080 a little over a month later, the RTX 4070 Ti on January 5, the RTX 4070 on April 13 and the RTX 4060 Ti on May 24, NVIDIA will therefore release its sixth reference.

No Founders Edition

The main objective of this new reference is of course to further lower the cost of the Ada Lovelace architecture in order, in particular, to make its DLSS3 super-sampling technique even more accessible.

Indeed, the indicative price (MSRP) of the GeForce RTX 4060 is 299 dollars or 329 euros, which represents a reduction of 110 euros compared to the RTX 4060 Ti. It should however be noted that no Founders Edition will be offered by NVIDIA, which therefore relies entirely on its partners. The latter will be “required” to offer models to the MSRP, but others will obviously be more expensive.

Remember that the RTX 4060 is designed around an AD107-400 GPU, which incorporates “only” 3,072 CUDA cores. The 8 GB of video memory in GDDR6 will be a little slower than on the RTX 4060 Ti (17 Gbps, against 18), and the total bandwidth will be lower at 272 GB/s. The 4060 relies above all on its price and its energy efficiency to impose itself.
