Update 2.4 introduced two new characters: Shenhe and Yun Jin. Even though the new script largely focuses on the first one, the integration of Yun Jin is remarkably executed. Shenhe’s background is very pleasant to follow, but the little surprise of this new adventure is also in Yun Jin’s performance. Like a performance of a Chinese opera, the young woman summarizes the events in song. Something rare enough to note, this moment keeps the original dubbing in Chinese whatever the language chosen.

Yun Jin is thus the first character in the game to have two dubbings in the same language.
The developers also pointed out that Genshin Impact could be a way of “to make known the beauty of traditional Chinese art”. It is indeed a good example of promoting a culture through video games.
