Geoffrey Palmer has died at the age of 93. The British actor became famous for his numerous sitcom roles.

Geoffrey Palmer is dead. The British actor died peacefully in his home at the age of 93, according to the BBC, citing his agent. Palmer was best known for roles alongside Judi Dench (85).

Palmer was born in London in 1927, trained as an accountant and began his acting career in the theater. The Briton later made a name for himself with TV roles. He played in the series "Doctor Who" (1970, among others), "Butterflies" (1978-1983) and "Fairly Secret Army" (1984-1986). In "As Time Goes By" (1992-2005) he played the role of Lionel Hardcastle alongside Judi Dench. In addition to Dench, he was also seen in "James Bond 007 – Tomorrow Never Dies" (1997). He also took on roles in films such as "Anna and the King" (1999), "Peter Pan" (2003) and most recently "Paddington" (2014).
