Trevor Rainbolt strikes again. In June 2023, gaming superstar GeoGuessr added a new achievement to his kill slate.
Trevor Rainbolt, YouTuber known for his exceptional performance in the GeoGuessr game, achieved a new feat on June 11, 2023. In a challenge he’s been running for a long time on his channel and social media, Trevor films himself trying to guess where a place is after viewing an image for a tenth of a second (0.1 seconds). For ordinary mortals, it’s a flash. For him, it’s enough to capture details that will make his brain react, trained to find clues to locate places with extreme precision and in record time.
The exact route in 0.1 seconds
On June 11, Trevor was having fun with this game he loves so much and, during his live, he achieved an even more exceptional feat than usual: after seeing an image for a tenth of a second, he found, in about forty seconds, the exact route where it was taken. Even he, accustomed to exploits, seems shocked by his success. The exploit was broadcast in a video which he shared on social media.
How did he find this road in the blink of an eye? To the question posed on Twitter, he simply answers: “ I thought I recognized the East Road in Ghana and I remembered that there were mountains to the East in the photo, so I looked for a road whose alignment could give that… and I had luck “, he says. A stroke of luck to get such an exact location out of next to nothing, but it’s mostly the brain training behind this feat that makes it so mind-blowing for us.
Earlier in June 2023, Trevor Rainbolt, whose popularity exploded during the Covid-19 pandemic, had fun with a completely different type of challenge: finding a bagel restaurant from a bagel in photo, in order to share the good address.
