George Clooney: He thought he would never get married – but then he met Amal

George Clooney didn't think he'd ever be married or have children. But then he met Amal.

George Clooney (59, "Ocean's 13") thought he would be a bachelor forever and never have children. The Hollywood star revealed this in an interview with the men's magazine "GQ". It was only when he met his current wife Amal (42) that his priorities changed. The wedding and later the birth of their children made him aware of how "empty" his life was.

"I thought that I would never get married. That I would never have children," Clooney said in an interview. He thought he would lead a full life: "I work, I have great friends," said the 59-year-old. After meeting Amal in 2013, everything changed: "There was actually a huge void."

Horror moment after the birth of the twins

The couple married quickly after meeting in September 2014. The marriage changed him, the actor continues: "Because I've never been in a position where someone else's life is so infinitely more important than my own."

The twins Ella and Alexander were born in June 2017. Shortly after she was born, Clooney experienced a moment of horror. In the summer of 2018, Clooney had a motorcycle accident in Italy, where he was filming for the series "Catch-22". In the moment just before the impact, he thought of his children: "I thought that was it and they will never see each other again," said Clooney.
