Gérald Darmanin: “it was an interesting debate with two very different visions of the world”

Guest of the morning of CNEWS Thursday morning, Gérald Darmanin, Minister of the Interior, considered that the debate between the two rounds having opposed Wednesday Emmanuel Macron to Marine Le Pen, had been “interesting” and put forward “two very different visions of the world”.

“It was an interesting debate, we saw objectively two very different visions of society, of the world, insisted the resident of Place Beauvau. I don’t think voters can confuse the two projects or the two candidates. That is always democratically interesting.

The minister added that the debate was “rather in good shape”, “compared to 2017”.

In addition to purchasing power, many topics were discussed by the two presidential candidates. Gérald Darmanin notably noted the theme of “international, Europe”, which “showed different visions and it was interesting”.

After a failed debate in 2017, where she was tired and had poor control of her files, Marine Le Pen appeared five years later better prepared, welcoming at the exit a “good performance” debate which took place “serenely, correctly”. A feeling also shared by Emmanuel Macron.
