The Munich Society mourns one of its most dazzling personalities: the celebrity hairdresser Gerhard Meir died at the age of 65. He was found dead in his Munich apartment by one of his employees, as the "Abendzeitung" reports on its website. Nothing is known about the exact cause of death yet, but Meir has recently had to struggle with health problems again and again.
The star Figaro has been one of the most famous of his guild for decades and made numerous headlines in 1986 with the legendary punk hairstyle of Gloria von Thurn und Taxis (60).
In 2018 he told the "Bild" newspaper that he would take it easy after burnout, stroke and heart attacks: "Big party is no longer possible. I tend to relax." He gives himself more breaks. Even then, a relationship was no longer an option for him: "The subject is ticked off. I don't want a man anymore." That is too exhausting for him.
