German Acting Award 2020: Great honor for Alina Serban

The German Acting Award brought some glamor to Berlin again: Alina Serban and Bernhard Conrad, among others, prevailed.

Since the outbreak of the corona pandemic, glamorous events have been in short supply. The presentation of the German Drama Award brought a bit of glamor to Berlin on Friday (September 11th). The winner in the "Actress in a Leading Role" category is Alina Serban (32) in "Gipsy Queen". In the drama by Hüseyin Tabak (39) she plays a single mother and boxer. Her male counterpart is Bernhard Conrad (born 1981), who asserted himself with his performance in Max Gleschinski's (born 1993) debut film "Kahlschlag".

Other award winners

The prizes in the supporting role categories went to Carol Schuler (33) in the Netflix series "Skylines" and Rauand Taleb (28) in the third season of "4 Blocks". Gisa Flake (34) in "Sag du es mir" and Leon Ullrich (37) in season two of "Eichwald, MdB" received awards for their comedic roles. Sophie Rois (59) won the "Strong Performance" category in "Rampensau". Tua El-Fawwal was happy to receive the young talent award for her appearance in the fourth season of the youth series "Druck". Dieter Mann (79) received the honorary award for his life's work.

The German Acting Award has been awarded annually by the Bundesverband Schauspiel e.V. (BFFS) since 2012. It is an "award by actors for actors and people who have inspired and promoted the art of acting in a special way through their work. The award is given to personalities who, with their creative work, help German film to achieve a complex identity and thus inspire others" , it says on the official homepage.
