Germany is looking for the superstar: Mike Singer as a juror in the new season

Mike Singer can look forward to a new, big project: The 20-year-old will be a juror for the 18th season "Deutschland sucht den Superstar".

No sooner has the end for Pietro Lombardi (28, "Cinderella") and Oana Nechiti (32) in "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" been sealed than one of the jury seats that has become vacant has already been filled again. As RTL announced on Thursday (August 13th), pop singer and songwriter Mike Singer (20, "No") will take a seat next to chief juror Dieter Bohlen (66) in the coming season of the music casting show.

Mike Singer relies on his experience

"I feel very honored to be part of the 'DSDS' jury," says the 20-year-old about his new job. To date, the musician is the youngest juror hired for the TV show. He does not see this as a deficit. "Despite my young age, I have already gained a lot of experience in the music industry, social media and in a casting show that I would like to pass on," said the Offenburg citizen with Russian roots.

Singer has already released three albums – all of them a chart success. In 2018 he also won the MTV European Music Award for "Best German Act" and the Kids Choice Award. In the ProSieben show "The Masked Singer" he sang in second place dressed as Wuschel in spring 2020.

An official start date for the 18th season "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" (also on TVNow) does not yet exist. It is also still unknown who the other two jury members will be.
