Germany prepares a possible nationalization of Gazprom Germania-presse

BERLIN, Aug 28 (Reuters) – The German government has set up a holding company with a view to the possible nationalization of Gazprom Germania, the German energy subsidiary of Gazprom whose Russian state gas giant withdrew in April, the German newspaper Welt am Sonntag.

The Bundesnetzagentur (BNetzA) announced in April that it would take control of the operations of Gazprom Germania in the interests of Germany and Europe.

The holding company created by Berlin, called Securing Energy for Europe Holding GmbH (SEEHG), is in charge of the company’s investments, indicates the Welt am Sonntag, citing a government document.
