The 16th season of "Germany's Next Top Model" starts on Thursday. The candidates can look forward to a special guest.

From Thursday (February 4th) it will be that time again: In the meanwhile 16th season 31 young girls are fighting for the title "Germany's next top model". In the very first episode, the candidates run their first major fashion show – and in front of none other than designer legend Manfred Thierry Mugler (72).

Show boss Heidi Klum (47, "America's Got Talent") describes guest judge Mugler as an "icon of the fashion scene". She is happy "that he will be at my side as a guest judge right from the start and that he will pass on his knowledge to my girls".

The French designer sees himself as a "dreamer". "My job is not a job, it's a passion." He expects the girls "to amaze me, have fun, show strength and be ramparts".

It depends on "strength, concentration and fitness"

The 72-year-old, who has already worked with stars like Beyoncé (39, "Halo"), Cardi B (28) and Kim Kardashian (40), already has a few tips for the young models in advance. Anyone who wants to be successful must have "strength, concentration and fitness". Personally, the kind of personality appeals to him most, "who knows how to develop and stand out".

In total, over 17,000 girls applied to "Germany's next top model" in 2021. Who wins the show will be decided within the next few months. ProSieben always shows the new episodes on Thursdays at 8:15 p.m., and they are also available at Joyn at the same time. The individual episodes are repeated every Friday at 8:15 p.m. on sixx.
