Actor Gernot Endemann died on Monday. He was known, among other things, for his roles in the children's TV show "Sesame Street".
Actor Gernot Endemann (1942-2020) died on Monday at the age of 77 in Hanover. The "Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung" (HAZ) reports citing his family. In just a few weeks, on July 24, the Essen native would have celebrated his 78th birthday. He was known to many especially as "taxi driver Thomas Sauer" and "bicycle dealer Schorsch" in the German editions of the children's TV program "Sesame Street". He played the two roles from 1986 to 1998.
Among other things, he was seen in the "Tatort: Habgier" (1999) as home director Felix Manthey. The thriller with Manfred Krug (1937-2016) as Commissioner Paul Stoever and Charles Brauer (84) as Commissioner Peter Brockmöller is one of the films currently available in the desired crime thriller voting.
Gernot Endemann is survived by his third wife (since 2009), actress Sabine Schmidt-Kirchner, as well as two sons – including director Till Endemann (44, "moon landing") – and two daughters from two previous marriages.
