Lord Cutler Beckett now has control of Davy Jones and the “Flying Dutchman”. He wants to wipe out all pirates and thus dominate the world’s oceans. The Council of Pirate Lords must come together to act together against Beckett. However, this also requires Jack Sparrow, who is in the realm of the dead. That’s why Will Turner, Elizabeth Swann and Barbossa head into the underworld to get the captain.

The vacillating, whimsical pirate captain Jack Sparrow is once again played by Johnny Depp (“Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”), who stars alongside Orlando Bloom (“The Lord of the Rings”) as the adventurous blacksmith Will Turner and Keira Knightley (“Pride and Prejudice”) as Governor’s daughter Elizabeth Swann.

The most expensive film of all time

From 2007 to 2018, the third part of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” series “Pirates of the Caribbean – At World’s End” was considered the most expensive film of all time with a budget of 300 million US dollars. This record was set by “Avengers: Infinity War” in 2018 and surpassed by “Avengers: Endgame” in 2019.
