So that the imprisoned Ghislaine Maxwell has a chance of a Christmas party in freedom, her partner should now dig deep into their pockets.

Ghislaine Maxwell (58) has been in custody since July this year and is awaiting trial. It was unlikely that the former accomplice of the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein (1953-2019) would spend the Christmas holidays at home in her own four walls. Now her husband Scott Borgerson (44) seems to be taking action to pull all possible levers in motion.

$ 30 million for temporary freedom

As "The Daily Telegraph" reports, the tech entrepreneur, together with two Maxwell brothers, intends to apply for a bail for 30 million US dollars (around 24.8 million euros). If this is approved by the federal court in New York, the 58-year-old should celebrate Christmas with her loved ones. The money deposited is intended to serve as security for the court that Maxwell will not flee once she is at large.

Maxwell has faced six counts so far. Among other things, she is accused of helping Epstein abuse underage girls. She is also charged with perjury on two counts. The process is scheduled to start in July 2021.
