Gladiator 2: The sequel to Ridley Scott’s action flick will be released in 2024

In 2024 there will be a sequel to the hit film “Gladiator” appear, which has some Hollywood stars to offer you. Not many survived the 2000 action flick starring Russell Crowe, but familiar cast members return in the sequel. Here you can read more information about “Gladiator 2”.

Gladiator 2: Start Date

“Gladiator 2” is scheduled for November 22, 2024 appear in US cinemas. In Germany, you can probably expect the theatrical release a day earlier, i.e. on November 21, 2024. If anything changes on this date, you will find out here.

Gladiator 2: Trailer

So far there is no official trailer for the “Gladiator” sequel, as there are no scenes of the film that have been shot yet. However, we will show you the trailer here as soon as it is released.

Gladiator 2: Storyline

The focus of “Gladiator 2” is said to be Lucius (then played by Spencer Treat Clark), the nephew of “Gladiator” villain Commodus (“Joker: Folie à Deux” star Joaquin Phoenix). This will already be grown up in the sequel. The sequel will also be about Lucius’ mother Lucilla. However, little is known about this so far.

Gladiator 2: cast

Gladiator 2 stars Paul Mescal (Normal People) as Lucius, Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) as Emperor Caracalla, and Connie Nielsen (Zack Snyder’s Justice League) as Lucilla. Denzel Washington, Pedro Pascal (“The Last Of Us”), Barry Keoghan and Djimon Hounsou (“Shazam! Fury of the Gods”) join the cast in previously unknown roles.

Gladiator 2: Production

The film will again be directed by Ridley Scott (“House of Gucci”, “Raised by Wolves”), who was also responsible for the award-winning first part. John Mathieson is the cinematographer and Arthur Max is in charge of production design. The script is by David Scarpa (“Napoleon”) and “Gladiator 2” is being written by Ridley Scott, Michael Pruss, Laurie MacDonald, Doug Wick (“The Great Gatsby”) and Lucy Fisher produced.

The action sequel is produced and created by many of the people who were part of the Oscar-winning first part. That’s already promising. The film’s star cast could also indicate that the sequel will be a complete success. Little Lucius was able to win the hearts of the viewers in part 1, so a continuation of his story is certainly exciting to see for “Gladiator” fans. Hopefully director Ridley Scott won’t skimp on action scenes and CGI-animated arena fights, then nothing will stand in the way of the success of “Gladiator 2”.
