Good deal – The Philips Essential Airfryer Compact HD9200/90 “4 stars” oil-free fryer at €69.00 (-31%)

Sold around €100, the Essential Airfryer Compact HD9200/90 adopts the same format as the Essential Airfryer Compact HD9252/90, but swaps its touch panel for physical buttons for easier and more intuitive handling.

The Philips Essential Airfryer Compact HD9200 is an attractive alternative to the low-cost oil-free fryers that are springing up on the market. Its control panel is certainly rudimentary, but it is also intuitive. It is thus all the easier to cook with this model as it never reserves any unpleasant surprises when cooking. The temperatures are generally well respected and quickly reached. Remains a range of temperature after all limited and, above all, a size all the same consequent for the small capacity proposed.

Strong points

  • Simple and easy to understand controls.
  • No need for preheating.
  • Relatively compact size.
  • Little noisy.
  • Interesting NutriU app.

Weak points

  • Really small basket.
  • Compulsory mixing of preparations during cooking.
  • Dirty coating.

NB: The reported price drop is calculated by comparing the lowest price of the day with the average of the lowest prices charged by all merchants for the product last month, with security rules to exclude prices from shops whose the VAT policy is not clear (known as “grey” shops, typically in the case of imports from China).

Alternatively

Without much pretension, the Essential Airfryer Compact HD9252 nevertheless has the merit of doing what is asked of it. Its cooking performance is satisfactory on the whole and the dispensation of preheating saves considerable time compared to an oven. It’s a pity that its control panel has not been better thought out, and that its basket is still not a little larger given the size of the device.
