Good Doctor: a year after his departure, Claire Browne soon back in the series?

Less than a year after her departure from “Good Doctor”, Antonia Thomas, alias Claire Browne, will soon be back in the medical series worn by Freddie Highmore for a few episodes.

Almost a year after announcing her departure from the medical series, Antonia Thomas, who played Dr. Claire Browne for 4 seasons, will soon be back in Good Doctor. The actress will indeed resume her role for two episodes of season 5 which will be broadcast in the spring across the Atlantic.

For the moment, no details have been released regarding the reasons and circumstances of the return of Claire, who had accepted a job in a Guatemalan clinic at the end of season 4.

And above all, we do not yet know how she will come to cross paths with her former colleagues, and more particularly that of her friend Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore), of whom she was the confidante for 4 years. It is also perhaps to help him manage his problems with Léa that the young woman will make her big comeback at the San Jose St. Bonaventure hospital.

Last June, when her departure was announced, Antonia Thomas explained to our colleagues at Deadline that she was not against the idea of returning to Good Doctor as a guest for a few episodes.

I spoke with Freddie about the possibility of returning, and it’s a big yes“, she confided at the time. “It was not an easy decision for me to leave, so I would love to come back from time to time to say hello, to share with others the skills Claire learned in Guatemala and to tell her stories. I can’t wait to do it.

After her departure from the series in June 2021, Antonia Thomas joined the cast of the English series Suspect, an adaptation of the Danish fiction Forhøret, which should be broadcast soon on Channel 4.

Season 5 of Good Doctor, currently broadcast in the United States, should arrive by the start of the next school year in France on TF1.
