Goodbye Volcano High: a final report for the road

KO_OP operates as a cooperative, a bit like the French SCOPs. A rare entrepreneurial model, certainly, but which can work very well, as evidenced by the success of Motion Twin in our hexagon. In the spirit of their corporate structure, KO_OP wishes to delay the release of Goodbye Volcano High so as not to give in to the vices of crunch, as the official statement published on Twitter tells us: “with our current workload, we would never have been able to meet the deadlines without significantly reducing the scale and quality of our game. […] Our team would have had to work nights, weekends and early mornings, which could cause burnouts.

No hurry

Here, patience will therefore be the mother of safety. KO_OP also points out that the June release calendar is already jam-packed (Diablo IV and Street Fighter 6 to name a few), and that shifting towards the end of the summer holidays allows you to clear the way.

To make us wait, a second narrative demo will soon be published on Steam. In the meantime, the first trial version of Goodbye Volcano High is always available.

As a reminder, this dissertation on the end of adolescence – and of the world, at the same time – will follow the peregrinations of zicos dinosaurs plagued by their hormones, doubt, imminent death, anxieties and romantic conflicts. Perhaps the most faithful simulator of high school years there is?
