Google Cloud and Stack Overflow announced a strategic partnership that combines the technological power of Google Cloud’s artificial intelligence with Stack Overflow’s deep development knowledge.

This partnership will allow Google Cloud customers to access Stack Overflow directly in the Google Cloud console and Gemini for Google Cloud. Developers on Stack Overflow will also be able to leverage Google Cloud AI to find coding solutions more efficiently.

A technological partnership

“This partnership combines our enterprise AI platform with the deepest and most popular developer insights platform available today,” said Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud. “Google Cloud and Stack Overflow will help developers use AI more effectively in the platforms they prefer, by combining the extensive knowledge of the Stack Overflow community and new AI capabilities, powered by Vertex AI and infrastructure reliable and secure Google Cloud. »

The partnership leverages Stack Overflow’s 15 years of experience and Google Cloud’s advanced developer tools, including its AI-powered capabilities. These generative AI capabilities are powered by Gemini, Google’s latest and greatest language model, which powers its AI chatbot and other services.

“In the age of AI, Stack Overflow maintains that the reliability and accuracy of databases are at the heart of building new technological solutions,” emphasizes Prashanth Chandrasekar, CEO of Stack Overflow. “This is why millions of developers around the world come to our platform, one of the few sources of high-quality information that is committed to its community. »

New features planned for this year

Users will be able to easily ask questions about their code and get answers supported by Stack Overflow data – all without leaving the Google Cloud environment.

“This historic, multi-dimensional AI-focused partnership (…) underscores our shared commitment to unleashing developer creativity, unlocking productivity without sacrificing accuracy, and implementing socially responsible AI.” By bringing together the strengths of our two companies, we can accelerate innovation across a wide range of sectors,” said the CEO of Stack Overflow.
