Google Maps is one of the most popular apps on most Android smartphones. Quickly plan and save a route, share a location with friends and explore with Street View. Google currently offers a separate app for the latter. If you don’t know them, you don’t have to bother anymore.
Because Google will discontinue the Street View app on March 21, 2023. As the GoogleWatchBlog reports, there are two reasons for this. On the one hand, the app is not very popular with users, who can also enjoy the advantages in the pre-installed navigation app. On the other hand, the app suffers from its range of functions.
Because as an independent program, the Street View app is very poorly linked to the Maps navigation data. However, that should change as of the March deadline. Because then the functions and image data flow completely into the Google Maps app. It remains to be seen whether Street View will also be more popular in Germany.
