Jeremy Renner walked the red carpet for the first time since the snow plow accident. He did this “battered”, but overjoyed.
Jeremy Renner (52) has once again put his words into action: As previously announced, the Marvel star, who was run over by a snow plow on New Year’s Day and suffered life-threatening injuries, walked the red carpet for the first time on Tuesday. Renner attended the premiere of his new documentary series, Rennervations, which premieres April 12 on Disney+.
Like the day before, when the actor guested on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” was, he leaned on a cane during his red carpet comeback. He also used a small scooter, which he used to relieve his legs again and again during the numerous interviews. Among other things, he revealed “Variety”that he was the driving force behind the decision not to postpone the premiere.
“I was really adamant that they don’t push things back here,” Renner said. He “may still look a bit battered,” but: “I’ve set myself the goal of walking this red carpet, and here I am enjoying it.” He wanted to prevent his heart project from disappearing at all costs – “that would have frustrated me very, very, very much.”
Great passion and even greater happiness
In “Rennervations”, special vehicles that have been discarded by Renner and prominent helpers are refurbished so that they can be used for charitable purposes. In the episodes recorded before Renner’s accident, he works on various vehicles with a team of specialists in the USA, Mexico and India.
Renner had previously spoken to Jimmy Kimmel (55) again about his serious accident. He confirmed that “about 35” bones were fractured in the process. The actor fell under his snow plow on January 1st. At the time, he was trying to get into the vehicle when the snow groomer rolled towards his nephew. Renner explained to Jimmy Kimmel (55) how lucky he was. The snow plow “missed all vertebrae”, did not destroy any organs, and his brain was not swollen.
