Present in particular at Gamescom 2022 last August, Gorddeveloped by the Covenant.dev studio which is made up of former members of CD Projekt and 11 Bits Studios (frostpunk), showed up a few days ago with no less than 16 minutes of gameplay. The opportunity to see the title in action, with a mix between RTS and construction.
A mix between Rimworld and The Witcher 3
In this rather long gameplay video, we can see all the subtleties that the game has to offer us. First of all, Gord will be inspired by Slavic mythology where you will take control of the tribe of dawn, who will venture into dangerous lands while trying to expand his colony. A construction aspect will be included with the possibility to create military buildings or even temples, in order to increase the magical abilities of the inhabitants. The choices to be made will also be important in the software. Note also no less than 1000 different profiles at the level of inhabitantsand there will be a total of 31 different buildings to construct.
The software will also take the form a real-time strategy game, with the ability to freeze time. This will allow in particular to anticipate the attacks of the various creatures and thus to counter-attack. Besides the main campaign, know that there will be a customizable scenario mode. In other words, you can customize a lot of elements and thus create your own scenario, with of course procedural generation.
All this is devilishly exciting and promising. Know that we quickly saw it at Gamescom, and the software should be relatively interesting to play with this mixture of simulation and real-time strategy. If the interface seemed to us a little loaded, we must recognize that this big mix between Rimworld and The Witcher 3 for the background is devilishly desirable, even if we have reservations about the accessibility of the title for neophytes of the genre who would like to try Gord.
In any case, the production of Covenant.dev is attractive. Note that Gord still does not have a release date, except for a vague coming soon on PC via Steam.
