Starting next week, you’ll be able to roam the dark, seedy alleys of Gotham again with Nightwing, Batgil, Robin and Red Hood in Gotham Knights. The title enjoyed a big no-promotion campaign with not one, but two launch trailers, but there were still a few details that Warner Bros Games Montreal kept warm. So today we learn good news, as well as another much less encouraging, especially for console players.

Might as well start with the worst news first: Gotham Knights will not exceed 30 FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series. At launch, no “performance” mode will be available for the game, so no 60 FPS. Which seems like a small aberration in 2022 for a title that only releases on next-gen consoles.
Flower Martyproducer of the game, justifies this by the presence of cooperation :
” With the kinds of features we have in our game, like providing an unaltered co-op experience in our highly detailed open world, it’s not as easy to drop the resolution to get a higher framerate. For this reason, our game has no performance/quality mode and will run at 30 FPS on consoles. »
Fine, but what about people who mostly play solo? One could have imagined that the studio would find a solution to increase the framerate when there are no other players around, but that is obviously not the case.

History to pass the pill a little, the studio announced in the same period of time that the game would be entitled to a free update in November, which will bring a new game mode.
