Gran Turismo 7: A PS VR2 mode at the launch of the helmet and the first images for the film

During the conference sony which took place that night for the CES 2023the manufacturer took advantage of the event to highlight the capabilities and the line-up of its next virtual reality headset, the PlayStation VR2. The latter will not be able to benefit from backward compatibility with its predecessor, but Sony wants to make sure to offer a large catalog at launch, with new games and essential ports like that of Beat Saber. But also with VR modes on already existing PlayStation 5 games, such as for Gran Turismo 7.

To pretend to be a real pilot

In the manner of a Resident Evil Village, Gran Turismo 7 will also be entitled to its PS VR2 mode from February 22, release date of the virtual reality headset. It will happen through an update which will obviously be free.

No further details were provided on this release, not even any images. We imagine however that the sensations will be guaranteed in cockpit view, even if it will still be necessary to wait a few weeks to be sure.

The Gran Turismo film is revealed

At the same time, Sony wanted to continue telling us about the license with the movie Gran Turismo which has been in the works for a while, directed by Neill Blomkamp and featuring actors Orlando Bloom and David Harbour.

We didn’t expect to have moving images so early in the production of this film (which is still due out on August 11 in the United States), but a sneak-peek was unveiled at the event to take us behind the scenes. We see some new images that allow us to see what the final product will look like, even if there is still a lot of time to refine all this.
