Released at the end of 2019, GreedFall was a real success with players. Moreover, the title has sold more than 2 million copies, according to the latest figures shared. Building on this success, the license will indeed have the right to a second opus.
This is the good news of the day: Nacon and Spiders have just officially announced Greed Fall 2 (GreedFall II: The Dying World, its full name). The title is intended for 2024 on consoles and PC. Like its predecessor, GreedFall 2 will be an RPG focusing on player choice. This second opus will offer a new gameplay since the fights should be more tactical.
Regarding the scenario of GreedFall 2, the publisher has given some details: the events narrated will take place before those of the first opus, and therefore before the adventure of De Sardet. Players will embody a native of Teer Fradeen, forcibly brought back to the continent of Gacane. The main objective should be this: to regain one’s freedom and once again have control over one’s own destiny. For this, it will be necessary to show diplomacy, cunning or to fight, while relying on its allies.
Spiders Studio Founder and Director Jehanne Rousseau spoke about GreedFall 2 and said:
While we’ve been working on Steelrising, our love for the GreedFall universe has never faded, and we’re excited to return to it. Through this new chapter, players will explore the Old Continent, comprised of larger and more diverse environments.
