Grégory Lemarchal: how his mother sees the return of Star Academy

Laurence Lemarchal, Grégory’s mother, confided in the columns of Télé Loisirs on April 25. The opportunity for her to discuss the return of the Star Academy.

On April 30, 2007, Grégory Lemarchal lost his fight against the disease of cystic fibrosis. The young man, aged only 23, made himself known by participating in the star Academy. Noted for his talent, he was very popular with the French who were shocked by his death. Today, Laurence and Pierre Lemarchal, his parents, continue to honor his memory. In the columns of Télé Loisirs on April 25, his mother had confided and in particular mentioned the return of the Star Academy. “If it comes back, good for those who can participate, even if I don’t know what state of mind they will be in“, she first explained. For Laurence Lemarchal, the show was an important step in Grégory’s life. “For me, behind the cameras, Star Academy was above all a school where Grégory learned a lot“, she continued before adding: “And then this opportunity that they had to sing live every Saturday evening with recognized and even world-famous artists!“.

The years pass but Grégory Lemarchal is still omnipresent in the daily life of his parents and his fans. Fifteen years after his disappearance, Laurence Lemarchal is happy that his son participated in this program. “We must not forget that due to his illness, my son had never been able to go in a group or to a summer camp.“, she explained before adding: “It was the first time he had done it. And he loved that team spirit. For him, the only competition was with himself.“. Grégory Lemarchal had quickly made a place for himself and he was very popular with viewers but also with his comrades. “Grégory managed to forge an incredible bond with TF1 and it never broke up, even after his disappearance“, revealed his mother. “The people who knew him are also still present, fifteen years later. We have memories and we don’t forget. We know their loyalty, and how they were with him: respectful!“, she concluded. Among them, we can mention Nikos Aliagas or Karine Ferri, who has long been part of the Grégory Lemarchal association.
