For the first time Steffen Henssler fought against a single candidate. Mario Barth demanded everything from him in “Schlag den Henssler”.

Moderator Laura Wontorra (33) feared a “testosterone tsunami”: Mario Barth (49) challenged Steffen Henssler (49) on Sunday at “Grill den Henssler” (Vox at 8:15 p.m., also at RTL+). The macho comedian was the only guest, for the fifth time he competed against his cooking buddy – for the first time solo. In general, Henssler cooked for the first time in the history of his show against a single candidate.

What did the “alpha males” (Wontorra) have to cook? Beef soup with marrow dumplings and egg custard was the starter. For the main course there was breaded cutlet with pointed cabbage and potatoes. The dessert task was quark balls with raspberry sauce.

Mario Barth leads after the main course

Mario Barth, who had a professional kitchen set up at home during the corona pandemic, approached the duel with self-confidence. “If I win this thing here, I’ll run through Germany for a whole year and say: ‘Did you see that?'” said the Berliner.

With the help of professional chef Kristof Mulack, Barth cooked up a tie with the starter. After the main course, the comedian was even more popular with judges Christian Rach (64), Mirja Boes (50) and Reiner Calmund (73).

Henssler is catching up – quotas are falling

But with the dessert, Steffen Henssler turned the duel in his favor. He thought his quark balls were a straight 10. Christian Rach actually gave him the highest rating. Overall, Henssler defeated Bart 72:69.

In terms of ratings, the solo special from “Grill den Henssler” got a solid result. According to “odometer” the program achieved a market share of 7.1 percent among the advertising-relevant target group. Last Sunday, when Henssler competed against three professional chefs, it was still 8.9 percent.
