Twice a year, the Online mode of Grand Theft Auto 5 benefits from the release of a major update with many new features. The latest was The Contract, and featured rapper Dr. Dre but also one of the story mode protagonists, Franklin.
For the past few days, we were still waiting for some announcement, and while we had no more hope, Rockstar Games has finally formalized the arrival of the next Update, what a relief ! According to the press release, the title will therefore benefit from new missions, and more specifically from content aimed at enriching the criminal careers of white-collar workers, bikers, arms traffickers and nightclub owners. Besides, it seems that a new criminal conspiracy wants war…
New criminals are coming to GTA Online!
Although the press release is still a bit light, the developers have therefore announced the arrival of several new features. If we are going to have the right to new criminals, whose identity we still do not know, the title will also benefit from some adjustments.
To begin with, Rockstar Games announced that they had taken player feedback into account and therefore decided to reduced effectiveness of Oppressor Mk II homing missiles and countermeasures, easier access to snacks and wards, and the ability to run sell missions during invite sessions. No more blowing yourself up and losing a million dollars in profit during our coke or arms sales! In addition, the game’s economy will be reviewed with an increase in GTA$, in order to reward players who continue to farm truly. This will be, according to Rockstar, also a way to get more players to do activities.
On the other hand, the players will not be obliged to be at the head of this or that company to make a lot of money. Bodyguards, partners and members of a motorcycle club will indeed see a significant increase in their earnings, aimed at encouraging them to “play cooperatively.The studio also added that “Various activities, such as Races, Adversary Modes, and a selection of Heist Endgames will also have their earnings boosted.“
Finally, new seasonal events will appear, as well as bonuses, gifts and community challenges, but the developers are still keeping all of this a bit of a mystery!
The good news is that this next major update will be available on all platforms i.e. PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X and S, but the bad news is that we don’t know when it will appear! We can hope within a week or two.
