Up to 50 cm of fresh snow
After the snowfall on Saturday night, further precipitation is expected for Sunday. First of all, the snow line will rise to around 800 meters above sea level due to a warm front, said Ludwig Z’graggen, meteorologist at Meteoschweiz, on Saturday.
On the night of Sunday, however, it sank again – on the northern slope of the Alps, it will then snow all day in many places. From the Friborg and Vaudois Alps to the Bernese Oberland, Meteoswiss expects up to 30 centimeters of snow over 1000 meters above sea level, locally up to 50 centimeters.
It should also snow heavily further east. In Central Switzerland, Glarnerland, Alpstein and Prättigau, the amount of snow should be 20 to 40 centimeters. (SDA / man)
