Thursday May 27, 2020, Nicolas Bedos announced on Instagram the death of his father Guy Bedos, aged 85. Since his disappearance, in addition to tributes, numerous testimonies from relatives and archive files on the life of the comedians have made the headlines, like his love story with Sophie Daumier and in particular the death of the latter which will be a great trauma for the actor. It was on February 19, 1965 that Guy Bedos and Sophie Daumier married. The actress is already the mother of seven-year-old Philippe, whom Guy Bedos will recognize a few years later. Together, they have a daughter Mélanie who was born in 1977. A few months after her birth, the couple separated. As reported Gala, in 2014 in the documentary "Guy Bedos in complete freedom " (rebroadcast Friday May 29, 2020 on France 3), Guy Bedos talks about how he learned that his ex-wife suffered from Huntington's disease.
Sophie Daumier only recognized him
At the time of their divorce, he found her "unlivable", which further and further removed her from the one he loved. "I learned afterwards that she had Huntington's disease, which attacks both the body and the brain. I blamed myself because if I had known that she was so sick I would not have left"he confided in the report dedicated to him, before telling his end of life:"She no longer recognized anyone, but I recognized me.
