A new career begins for Alessandra Sublet in May on TF1. A few days ago, the presenter of C’est Canteloup, who is currently on the jury for the show Mask Singer, announced in an interview with Le Parisien that she was ending her career as a host to devote herself to comedy. .

And it is on May 2 that viewers will be able to witness her first steps as an actress since Alessandra Sublet holds one of the main roles of the TV movie Handi-Gangwhich will be broadcast that evening at 9:10 p.m. on the front page and is also worn by the disabled swimmer Theo Curinwho we have already seen trying his hand at acting in Vestiaires and Plus belle la vie.

Realized by Stephanie Pillonca (Learn to love you, I will go to the end of my dreams), accustomed to societal stories imbued with humanity, Handi Gang tells the story of Sam, a high school student like all young people his age, or almost, because he is in a wheelchair.

Sam lives with her mother, Nina, who has always raised her alone and devoted her life to her. The arrival of Vincent, a new student, will however change everything. This newcomer making Sam aware of all the injustices that surround him and his group of friends, made up in particular of Lilas, “aspi” (autistic asperger), Tom, hard of hearing, or even Léandre, who is non- seeing.

Together, they will create a gang to denounce the lack of accessibility and consideration they suffer on a daily basis. Far from feeling victimized, they want to raise awareness by hitting hard. But Nina worries when she sees her son rebel because this “gang”, and the actions they put in place, could threaten Sam’s future.

While nothing opposed them until then, Nina and her son no longer understand each other. The single mother then finds herself faced with a dilemma: to interfere in Sam’s life as any mother would, or to leave him free of his choices to finally think of her…

Adapted from the eponymous novel by Cara Zina by Magaly Richard-Serrano and Karine Spreuzkouski, on a screenplay by Marine Gacem (Philharmonia), Handi Gang also counts in its cast Samira Lachhab, Esther Valding, and Arthur Legrand, all three well known to fans of Tomorrow belongs to us, but also Bruno Wolkowitch (Sam) and Victor Lefebvre (La Faute à Rousseau), who complete the cast alongside Alessandra Sublet and Théo Curin, alias Nina and Sam.

The broadcast of Stéphanie Pillonca’s unit will be followed on May 2 at 11 p.m. on TF1 by the documentary Théo Curin: my difference, my strength, directed by Sophie Lesage and narrated by Denis Brogniart. A new program in which the 21-year-old swimmer, amputated of four limbs following a lightning meningitis which occurred at the age of 6, looks back on his story and his journey, notably through his personal archives.
