Hans Kahlert is dead. The actor became known as Uncle Krischan in the NDR series “Neues aus Büttenwarder”.

As 106-year-old Uncle Krischan in the NDR series “Neues aus Büttenwarder” he became known to a wide audience. In real life, Hans Kahlert (1934-2021) lived to be 87 years old. The actor died on October 25th in Hamburg, as the broadcaster reports. Kahlert has been part of the cast since 2005. As “Uncle Krischan, he played himself indelibly in the hearts of Büttenwarder fans,” explains Frank Beckmann, NDR program director for television. “His fine, humble demeanor made him stand out. We deeply regret his death.”

Hans Kahlert was born on May 16, 1934 in the Latvian capital Riga. In 1945 he and his family came to the vicinity of Hanover. When he was twenty, he secretly took acting classes without his parents knowing about it. Many years later he played at the Karl May Festival in Elspe and Bad Segeberg. Since the mid-1960s he has been in front of the camera regularly for various productions, including several times for “Tatort” and “Großstadtrevier”.

On the occasion of his death on October 30th at 4:30 pm, NDR television will show the documentary “Onkel Krischan – The Old Man and the Village” from 2016. Follow “Treasure Hunt”. In the NDR Christmas program, Kahlert can also be seen in four other “Büttenwarder” episodes.
