But once there, they discover horrified that the house is still under construction! This is only the beginning of the galleys for the grandparents because soon… they lose the kids. They only have two days left to find them, before their parents join them…
This is the starting point for Happy Retirement 2, the sequel -3 years later- to Happy Retirement!. The film arrives at the cinema this Wednesday, with the same tandem headlining: Michèle Laroque and Thierry Lhermitte.
Happy Retirement 2 marks the reunion of Michèle Laroque and Thierry Lhermitte who had already starred in Le Placard, Tango, and more recently Joyeuse Retirement 1 and So We Dance, Michèle Laroque’s latest production.

Remember that the first part of Happy Retirement had some success: the feel-good family comedy had gathered 1.3 million spectators. This sequel is still produced by Fabrice Bracq, already co-author of the first opus, with Guillaume Clicquot, based on the novel Poivre et sel by Guillaume Cliquot (published by Fleuve Editions). For this sequel, Fabrice Bracq wrote solo.
