Netflix released the last three episodes of the documentary series centered on Harry and Meghan on Thursday. After a disappointing first part, is this sequel worth a look?
The launch of the Netflix documentary centered on Harry and Meghan was a real success on the platform, even if the press was relatively disappointed with the first episodes. The former members of the royal family promised us revelations and we had to wait for the arrival of the last three episodes to have something to eat.
Be careful, everything they say in this second part is not just pure novelty. They had indeed already made some shock announcements in their filmed interview with Oprah Winfrey last year (Meghan’s suicidal ideation, the question about Archie’s skin color, the tabloids which attacked them, etc.), but they go even further by attacking the Institution and accusing it of having stirred up hatred in the press and the tabloids, or at best of having done nothing.
For almost 3 hours, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex line up the arguments one after the other to prove that they have not been protected in order to serve the interests of certain members of the royal family. The reason ? Their growing popularity would have been frowned upon… If the couple never attacks head-on, it is not difficult to understand who the people targeted are.
Harry suggests on several occasions that he was very cold with his brother William and that certain official declarations were made without his agreement: “The problem is, when someone who was supposed to be in a supporting role, and gets married and steals the show or does the job better than someone who was born to do it, it upsets people, it upsets the balance.“.
Another attack this time targets the new King Charles III, or rather his communications team. Harry explains in the documentary that he was the only one who knew of their plan to move to Canada and quit their royal duties. Information that was leaked in the press a few days later… Voluntary leaks that will convince the two lovers to leave once and for all.
Right now, it’s Harry and Meghan’s word against that of the royal family, or rather “the company”, as the couple likes to call it. If they wanted to tell their story, it’s to leave it all behind them: “We can’t find peace without the truth”, reminds us of the former actress.
