Haute-Loire Hunting accident in Beauzac: a walker hit in the arm

Going out for a walk on Sunday morning, this walker was probably not expecting this. At the end of the morning, he was surprised by a gunshot while he was walking in the woods of “la Frétisse”, on the heights of Beauzac. The septuagenarian was shot in the arm and fortunately escaped without serious injury.

Victim taken to hospital

Taken care of by the firefighters, he was evacuated to the Firminy hospital center where he was able to be treated. “He should be able to go out today or tomorrow”, confided the mayor of the commune Jean-Pierre Moncher to us, Sunday evening.

More fear than harm, therefore, for this resident of Beauzac who finds himself the victim of a hunting accident that occurred in circumstances that the gendarmes will have to define.

“Not necessarily an area frequented by walkers”

They opened an investigation and placed in police custody the hunter who shot the gun, who will be prosecuted for involuntary injuries. According to the first elements, the man in his thirties was taking part in a hunt to hunt deer. The walker would therefore have been in the wrong place at the wrong time, in the shooting zone. “It’s a bit far from Beauzac, it’s not necessarily an area frequented by walkers,” comments the mayor, reassured that the accident is not more serious.
