Royal baptism of fire: Prince William has returned to public service after a three-week break.
The circumstances under which Prince William (41) resumed his royal duties after a break of around three weeks could hardly be more difficult. The pictures that were taken at Windsor Castle on Wednesday (February 7th) and show a – at least outwardly – relaxed Prince of Wales are all the more remarkable. In a celebratory ceremony there, the heir to the throne awarded over 50 honors, including the Member of the British Empire (MBE) award to former England international soccer player Ellen White (34).
The recordings that Partly also on the Instagram account Williams and his wife, Princess Kate (42), show the prince in a heartfelt exchange with the newly crowned dignitaries – there is jokes and laughter. The ceremony is not his only commitment for the day; in the evening he is also announced elsewhere: Prince William will appear at the London Air Ambulance charity, which he has been a patron of since 2020, and is expected to give a speech there. According to the Daily Mail, this is assumedthat he is using the opportunity to talk about his father’s cancer for the first time.
The difficult balancing act between duty and family
Many experts see the past and coming days and weeks as Prince William’s baptism of fire in his role as king-elect. Even before King Charles III’s cancer diagnosis. (75), he had his hands full due to a personal stroke of fate: Princess Kate had to undergo an operation on her stomach. Prince William then took the break mentioned above in order to be there for his wife and their three children, Prince George (10), Princess Charlotte (8) and Prince Louis (5).
