With the Blitzmarathon 2024, the speed camera week is coming to a climax. On Friday, April 19th, the police will carry out increased speed checks. The action is coordinated across the EU by the European traffic police network “ROADPOL” and also takes place in this country. However, some federal states have also decided against it – this includes Saxony.
In Saxony, the decision was made not to take part in both the speed camera marathon and the Speed Week. Accordingly, there will be no more intensive speed controls in the period from April 15th to 21st. Although Dinge does not carry out any controls as part of Speedweek and the speed camera marathon, the “Blitz for Kids” campaign has been running since April 10th. Here, increased checks will be carried out in front of schools over a period of two weeks, including the children.

In the first week, students warned speeding offenders with a yellow card; drivers were rewarded with a green card and words of praise for sticking to the limit. Since the beginning of the second week, fines and, in special cases, driving bans have been handed out.
