Together with his brother Philip, Don Everly wrote music history. The American has now died at the age of 84.

In the 1950s, the Everly Brothers (“All I Have To Do Is Dream”) were absolute superstars. Together with his brother Philip (1939-2014), Don Everly (1937-2021) wrote numerous rock ‘n’ roll hits and thus music history. According to his family, Don has now also died. The American was 84 years old.

Like the relatives of the musician the “Los Angeles Times” confirmed via a spokesman, died on Saturday (August 21) at his home in Nashville, Tennessee. Everly’s family did not comment on the cause of death. “Don lived the way he felt in his heart,” the statement said. The star appreciated being able to “live his dreams” and “share the music that made him an Everly Brother”. Don’s younger brother Phil passed away in 2014.

The brothers Don and Philip, who became big stars of the music scene thanks to their harmonies and even inspired artists like the Beatles (“Yellow Submarine”) and Simon & Garfunkel (“The Sound of Silence”), separated in 1973 after ten years but together again. Besides “All I Have To Do Is Dream”, her biggest hits include “Wake Up Little Susie” and “Crying in the Rain”.

Don Everly leaves behind his wife Adela and four children, son Edan and daughters Venetia, Stacy and Erin. The latter was married to Guns-n’-Roses star Axl Rose (59, “November Rain”) from 1990 to 1991. In addition, Margaret Everly, Don’s mother, survived her two sons.
